Amarillo Zoo Asks For Help Indentifying "Dogman"
By now you’ve probably seen this photo, taken from a security camera located at the Amarillo zoo, in Texas on May 21st, at 1:25am. Within weeks (In an interesting turn of events) the mainstream media has picked up this story of a “dogman” sighting, and decided to run with it. This article is an attempt to dig a little deeper into the event, and perhaps get some answers.
Let’s start with a timeline. 5/21 creature is seen
6/8 City of Amarillo has a press conference and asks for the public’s help.
Are they pulling our legs? It’s interesting to note that there is no video available from this camera, even though it is presumably a video security system.
Fence height is probably taller than perceived. It’s probably 8 feet before the barbed wire (10 ft. total)
The dogman is probably not as small as it seems. If it is even a little bit farther from the camera than expected, then it could easily be well over 5 feet. More likely, it’s a smaller person with a height closer to 5’0”. The leg proportions also seem too long, but this isn’t too strange. Many “furry” costumes are designed to exaggerate unnatural proportions for the very purpose of looking “less human”. The picture could be showing a jumpsuit that has the “legs” being drawn up onto the side of the torso.
It also looks as if the “creature” is sitting on something. This would also make a person look shorter than their actual standing height.
The posture in general seems that the creature is looking towards the camera.
THe city of Amarillo is calling it the “Unidentified Amarillo Object”, or UAO
“We just want to let the Amarillo community have some fun with this,” said City of Amarillo Director of Parks and Recreation Michael Kashuba. “It is important to note that this entity was outside the Amarillo Zoo. There were no signs of attempted entry into the zoo. No animals or individuals were harmed. There were no signs of criminal activity or vandalism.
“It is definitely a strange and interesting image. Maybe Amarillo can help solve the mystery of our UAO.”
I believe there is a large chance that the Amarillo Zoo is aware of the current popularity and frequency of “dogman” sightings, and are either trying to boost their profile, disseminate misinformation, or are simply trolling the public. Other plausible theories include a fox or cat scaling the fence.
